Simon's Tight Squeeze!

Well there's been numerous times in Simon's nearly 9 years of life when that over anxious food desire within him has gotten him into some issues. Mainly bellyaches! But what happened today is certainly a first for the little guy!

Sime loves peanut butter! There's really no words in the English language to accurately describe his love for peanut butter. Cody loves peanut butter however, not quite as insanely attracted to it as Simon. With Simon all you have to do is bring the jar out of the pantry, he instantly recognizes it without me even opening the jar. I think he has radar on the peanut butter jars in our house.

Today I was baking, in this particular recipe I threw a little peanut butter in. Because Simon taught me a long time ago that nearly everything is better with peanut butter. Wink-wink! I decided to give the boys a smidgen. I gave Simon his on a lid. He went chasing all over the kitchen pushing the lid from one side to the other with each lick of the peanut butter. I soon noticed he was near the fridge. As for Cody, he had his peanut butter cornered on the opposite side of the kitchen. I hoped Simon would soon be able to corner his as well. As I'm continuing to mix in ingredient after ingredient I soon hear a chorus of tapping noises on the floor from the paws of one of the boys. I look over to see only a Simon hiney. During his pursuit of his peanut butter filled lid he had gotten himself wedged between the wall and the fridge. His back feet were moving at a rapid pace to free himself yet he was not completely frantic at the situation he was in. In order to free him I pushed the fridge over a little. Once he was freed he turned his focus back to his peanut butter lid which was still under the fridge. Mommie to the rescue again for the peanut butter filled lid!...which wasn't exactly filled with peanut butter anymore. But Simon cleans up everything very thoroughly. To him it had enough peanut butter in it to be concerned about it going to waste sitting under the fridge. Crazy puggie!

The boys crack me up on a regular basis and today was no exception! The funny thing about Simon is that he's so unfazed by certain things. He wasn't that concerned about being stuck. He wanted to get out don't get me wrong but he wasn't in complete panic mode. Then once freed he was all about his peanut butter again. I could say Cody would have been in complete panic mode had it been him that was stuck but on the other hand Cody would never be in that situation. He lives a much more cautious life than reckless Sime!
