The city of Dallas is certainly content with the winners of last night's Super Bowl. The Packers were the heavy favorite in the eyes of Big D. Still no love for Steelers! My boyfriend even pointed out on Saturday that flagpoles that normally feature the state flag, city flag, and of course America's flag had been taken down and replaced with Green Bay Packers flags.
As for the actual game: I thought we were in for a blowout then before halftime the Steelers started to show signs of life and were able to get some momentum. It did turnout to be a close game in the end. I didn't appreciate the announcers mentioning the Super Bowl against the Cardinals that the Steelers were able to STEAL. GRR! I was certainly concerned that the Steelers were about to steal another game from somebody.
I see the Monday-morning quarterbacking about the issues at the game have already started. I read one article about the seating issue. Apparently 400 fans that bought tickets to the game were turned away at the last second due to the fire marshal not allowing the stadium to seat fans in the area the fans would've been seated. The whole situation is a result of Jerry Jones and the NFL wanting to break Super Bowl attendance records in an effort to do that they added a bunch of temporary seats. Maybe I'm not being compassionate enough but it certainly sounds like the fans were well compensated for the embarrassing seat debacle.
My fave commercial during the game? Well of course it has to be the one that featured a PUG. How cute! That pug showed that guy a thing or two. Don't taunt a hungry pug! I learned that a long time ago! The funniest thing to me about the commercial is something that I'm not totally sure came across in the commercial yet a pug owner knows all about it....and that is that many pugs are oblivious to the fact that they are small dogs. They think they are big giant dogs that can stand up to a rottweiler or great dane. I'm not sure that attitude quite came across in the commercial to anyone that doesn't have a pug. Most people likely just saw it as a pug that wanted some Doritos and busted through to get them.
