Happy Easter!

It's Easter Sunday! Woo-hoo! I got the boys up and out for their walk early, poor Cody was struggling to keep his eyes open while I leashed him up.  It rained on us a bit as we went through the morning walk but by 9:00 am it began to clear and the day couldn't have been more beautiful for Easter celebrations.

I did end up making three different kinds of cupcakes.  I made carrot cake cupcakes and decorated them with bunnies on top.  My bunnies didn't turn out so well.  You could tell what they were but some of their facial features were dripping a bit.  The cookie icing is the best I've found for writing or doing detailed decorating.  I tried the writing icing this time around and let's just say I won't waste my money on it next time. It drips too much!  I also made double chocolate cupcakes just a half recipe since I was making three kinds next up I made brownie cupcakes.  The first batch of brownie cupcakes were a disaster. Late last night I felt like trying again on the brownie cupcakes, this time I had success.

At Granny's house for Easter we played some fun outdoor games, we did an egg toss and had a spoon race. There was also a few contests...I won "most festive dessert".  I came home with an Easter cookie jar as my prize. I must say I was absolutely horrible at the egg toss....my poor husband had a very insufficient partner for the toss.  I could throw it just fine, catching it was not my thing!  No clue what was going on...I can catch...I'm not that bad at simple games.

We had a lovely Easter.  Now it's time to relax.  Maybe pop in a movie while enjoying some ice cream sundaes.  The Easter bunny brought us a nice basket full of candy, a gift card to Marble Slab Creamery, and the Easter bunny even stocked the freezer with two kind of ice cream plus he left a jar of hot fudge.  Why is ice cream important to us right now?....because we made it...we survived the ice cream ban as that is the item we both gave up for Lent.
