Simmie vs. Mommie!

Apparently Simon has invented a new game.  A game involving their toy box.  Their toy collection was majorly downsized when we moved to our new place.  Anything that looked slightly battered got a prime spot in the trash can.  Toys that made the move were mainly new ones that the boys had just received for Christmas with a few select faves like their kongs thrown in for good measure.  Oh they love their kongs.  And despite Simon's age I swear he's still teething.  Because he loves to simply gnaw on his kong even if nothing is stuffed inside it.  Just like when he was a puppy.

Well the last few days Simon has had fun tipping the toy box over.  Perhaps it's a new way to sort through things in his little mind. He tips it over by standing in it with his two front paws and tipping it towards himself.  He proceeds to nose through all the toys and most of the time comes away with no toy. He simply leaves the mess behind, toys spilled out all over the floor.  I go over soon after this toy tipping moment to put the toys back in the toy box and set it back where it's supposed to be.  He then goes back over and does it again...the little dork!  He doesn't waste much time going back over and doing it again once he sees I've cleaned up his spillage.

We've played this little game now the last 3 days, a couple times each day.  He even drags the box out away from the wall so it's in the middle of the walkway.  Which I can't stand having all those toys spilled out in the middle of an entry path to our living room.  I'm not sure what he's looking for when he goes through the toys.  Maybe a rawhide?  Maybe a fave toy he now realizes he is missing? Like I said a lot of toys did not make the move.  Perhaps he's looking for something. Or maybe he's performing a new service for us...the toy sorting service!  Cody performs a special service called "messing up the beds every morning". Simon I guess thought it was time to perform a service too. Lol!  This new "game" with Simon is oddly similar to the game I have with Cody every morning when I straighten up the beds he's messed up.  LOL!  Yes, Storm has a "game" too.  Her big game is to see if she can get one of us to turn the kitchen faucet on for her because she prefers water straight out of the tap instead of in her bowl.  All three have a little game going with us humans!  Who is supposed to entertain who?
